10 Years ago today...

Jen was baptized!

I'll never forget the day I met Jenny buggy punky fluffy (we call her that because her dad called her that growing up). I was new to the Idaho scene and 8th grade had just started. As I was getting to know these wonderfully crazy Idahoans, I couldn't help but be drawn to the girl in the skittles outfit (that's what we called it. It was a shirt and shorts of all the colors of the rainbow. I know, I know they will never let me forget I was the one in the wranglers) who was talking loud enough for anyone to hear.

That was my first introduction to the girl who would become my best friend and one of the best examples I have ever had. People in high school used to say, "You're the same person in two different bodies." We did everything together. We had the same jobs, we took dance and gymnastics together, we used the same lunch money, wore the same clothes, had the same friends, ate ice cream at every opportunity (she is the reason I'm obsessed), she even took seminary in high school and we had the same goals.

Our Junior year, Jen was baptized.

It's surreal to look back on the time before she was baptized. Jen was the one who helped me do the right thing and make the right decision. She is honest and faithful in everything she has ever done. She does the right things for the right reasons. She loves her family and is a shining example of a caring mother. Most of all, she loves the Lord. Having Jen as my best friend for the last 13 years has shaped me into the person I am today. She is a true and loving friend who is always there. Jen's decision 10 years ago to be baptized not only influenced me but it has changed many lives. She was married in the temple and has two sweet children who will be raised with the truth.

I knew then, as I know now that this gospel is true. How thankful I am for the restoration of the priesthood that has been such a blessing in my life. It has made me who I am today. I am so thankful the Lord puts people in our lives to help shape and form us. Thank you for being such a true friend Jen, I love you.

Happy 10 years!

I was not expecting to see that. Talk about take me back to some of the happiest times in my life. We really had a lot of fun. My baptismal day was a wonderful day but I don't think it can compare to the first time we were in the temple together or the times, we knelt across the altars with our husbands. Those are the memories right now that I love the most and are shaping us into the new roles we fulfill now and Eliza i am so glad we get to continue to share these new journeys together. Thank you so much for remembering me. I love you so much and I know I would not be where I am today without your continuing faithfulness in the gospel and your decision to always make the right choice, especially in high school. I am so blessed and so lucky to have you as my best friend. I love you!
