Over the course of the last year we have
had the accompaniment of a good friend.
They have been with us through thick and thin.
They have traveled across the country and back,
but the time has come to say goodbye.
I give you the top tier of our wedding cake.

Who knows who came up with this crazy idea,
but I had to support my wife in this crazy tradition
that only women seem to know about.

Into the freezer I dove to find our crusty little friend.
I cut two slices, one for me and one for my lovely bride.

Suffice it to say that I partook, but she dominated this cake.
I love my wife.
She never ceases to find another way for me to love her.
This last year has made my love for her grow.
I didn't think I had to prove my love to her by eating a
one-year-old cake.
